Background
MagBio Genomics is a US, ISO 13485-certified genomics company in Gaithersburg, Maryland. It makes magnetic-bead nucleic-acid purification kits, sample-collection and stabilization tubes, and PCR and sequencing reagents, including its HighPrep line, which labs buy as a cost-effective alternative to the industry-standard bead chemistry. Its customers are a specialized, technical audience: next-generation-sequencing, liquid-biopsy, and molecular labs across the US and Europe, buying both research-use (RUO) and CE-IVD diagnostic products.
In a niche like that, being found for the exact technical term a scientist types matters far more than raw traffic volume, and the store has to sell cleanly across two regions and currencies. That is the job MagBio handed OgreLogic.
What we build and run
OgreLogic runs MagBio's entire digital operation under one roof, and has for six years:
- The Magento store — a Magento 2 e-commerce site with separate US and EU storefronts (USD and EUR pricing, region-specific product availability), Authorize.Net checkout, and custom quote and sample-request flows built for a B2B buying process.
- Product experience — landing pages with spec and pricing tables, applications and benefits, and the RUO vs CE-IVD (DX) product structure the regulated market requires, plus the ISO certification and quality pages buyers check before they order.
- SEO — a monthly search program running continuously since 2021, with the keyword set built around how labs actually search.
- Maintenance and support — ongoing Magento upkeep, a full security audit, upgrades, and same-day fixes when the store needs them.
The result: page one, against the category leader
The headline is search. OgreLogic took MagBio's target keywords from outside the top 20 to 16 on the first page of Google, and not vanity terms. They are the commercial phrases a lab types when it is choosing what to buy: several rank #1 (nanopore sequencing cleanup kit, cost-effective PCR cleanup beads), more sit in the top three, and a whole cluster of them — "AMPure XP alternative," "best alternative to AMPure XP," "AMPure XP vs HighPrep pricing" — puts MagBio's HighPrep line directly in front of buyers evaluating the category's biggest name. That is demand captured at the point of decision.
In a specialized B2B market the traffic numbers are smaller by nature, but they moved the right way too: total users up 26.5%, sessions up 12%, and store conversions up alongside. Organic search drives the majority of the site's traffic.
A six-year partnership
This is not a project; it is a partnership. Since 2020, through product launches, European expansion, an ISO certification, a spam-attack recovery, and years of monthly reporting, OgreLogic has stayed MagBio's web, SEO, and maintenance team, and MagBio has referred OgreLogic to others along the way.
